HISTORY:

Chewbacca Uncircumcized was officially formed in Gregs mom's house in Kailua, Hawaii on April 4, 1998.
They started freestyling to each other about a year before that while waiting for movies to start, and in between making fun of people.
Soon after they hooked up a microphone to Greg's stereo, and began rapping over other people's beats. Jon was the lyrical genius, who could write rhymes from silly to philosophical in no time, while Greg could come up with anything off the top of his head, but couldn't write it down to save his life. So when you hear them on record, chances are Jon is spitting written shit, while Greg is just making it up as he goes along. It makes for a very intriguing and unique blend of styles.
June Kondry of the Bend Gazette (Bend, OR) said "They work very well together. They feed off each other like no two people I've ever seen or heard. It's like they know what the other person is thinking, but not right before they say it....more like 2 or 3 minutes in advance."
They began performing live on the streets of Waikiki, rapping for whatever people had in their pockets.
"I think the most we ever made that way was like 28 bucks", says Jon. (J-Meddows)

Then one day the owner of a club walked by and liked what he saw, and offered them a gig opening up for a Van Halen tribute band at Gussie Lamour's.
They reluctantly agreed to do it.
"We like Van Halen as much as the next guy, and we were honored to be offered a gig, but we knew the crowd wouldn't really get what we were doing...", says Greg. (G-Regulah) "It was fun, though", says Jon. "Very memorable", adds Greg.

They needed a name for a group, and went through a few changes, that they still use every now and then. ("Pyshotic Enemies Network" & "Tombstone & Crossbones" among them), But the one they used most was Chewbacca Uncircumcized. They heard it used as a fictional group in a Dr. Octagon song, and it just stuck. They didn't want to steal from Kool Keith, but they're were so influenced by him, that they went as far as using something derived from one of his albums. They are currently looking for a new name for their group, while working on their debut full length album. They are currently on hiatus, although they do perform an occasional concert. Jon moved from Hawaii a few months back, and Greg has just done the same. They are working on getting closer together.

"We have not broken up...not even close", says Jon. Adds Greg, "We just had a little speedbump. It had nothing to do with any friction with each other. We just had distractions in our life that didn't pertain to the group, or to our friendship at all, so there's nothing to worry about." "We're coming back. With a vengeance.." says, Jon.

They also may be on the hunt for a new DJ. DJ Tanner and DJ Qualls have been "busy" working on "other projects". "We love those guys", says Jon, "but we live in different parts of the country, and we're all so creative that it's almost expected that we work on other things from time to time." "I wish them the best, no matter what happens", says Greg.
